Tip: When you smoke the glass first, the smoke will cling to the sides, and with every sip, your nose will catch that smoky aroma. While the drink itself remains unchanged, your senses will be tricked into thinking the entire profile has shifted, adding a unique layer of depth to each sip. Some prefer to smoke the completed drink again for visual effect, which is perfectly fine, but keep in mind that the smoke will only linger on the surface of the liquid.

2 oz Aged Rum (Dark or Spiced Rum works well)
(Spiced Rum Hooch Essence for our Oak Barrels) -
¼ oz simple syrup or demerara syrup

2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

American Oak Smoker Chips

Directions
Add ice to a rocks glass. Smoke the rocks glass with American Oak chips until filled. Leave on glass for at least 30 seconds.
In a mixing glass, combine rum, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, and orange bitters. Add ice and stir until well chilled.
Strain the mixed cocktail into the smoked rocks glass.
Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink, then drop it into the glass.
